A catch-all mailbox receives emails sent to inactive email addresses under the same domain name. For example, an email sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can receive email messages from mates or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Only one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at some point you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be received in a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

In case you have a web hosting plan with our company and you want to enable the catch-all feature for a specific mailbox that you have in the web hosting account, it’ll take literally just a single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to accomplish that. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in the account. You can pick one single address per domain name by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature instantly, so all email messages sent to mistyped email addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button once again will deactivate the catch-all feature. If you’ve got enabled email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary notice and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature until you remove the forwarding or you can simply select a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
